FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A woman driving along N.C. Highway 59 crossed the center line and her car struck another vehicle, injuring her and three others Friday afternoon, state troopers said.

A 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Patricia Gearheart, 35, of Hope Mills, was going east on Chicken Foot Road/N.C. 59 when it struck a westbound 2001 pickup truck shortly before 3 p.m., troopers said. The wreck occurred near Sand Hill Road.

Gearheart was airlifted to UNC Hopsitals in Chapel Hill. Troopers believe her injuries were non-life-threatening.

A 5-year-old girl and 2-year-old boy in the Cavalier and the pickup's driver, Thomas Slappe, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Troopers said that no alcohol was involved and that charges were pending in the wreck.
