Trooper injured, driver charged in Raleigh crash

A trooper was involved in a crash early Sunday, according to officials with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A trooper was involved in a crash early Sunday, according to officials with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

A lane was closed on I-440 eastbound from until 2:45 a.m. at Exit 10 near Wake Forest Road after a crash involving two cars, one of which belonged to a trooper.

According to officials, the trooper involved in the crash was treated and released from Duke Raleigh Hospital with neck and back injuries. The driver of the other car was looked at on scene.

Officials said the driver of the other car was charged with reckless driving.

The trooper and the other driver have not been identified.
