APEX, N.C. — Two men and a juvenile female face a total of 57 charges related to a series of break-ins and fraud cases across Wake and surrounding counties, Apex police reported Friday.

Tomario Rhodes, 34, of Durham, Gregory Lyons, 19, of Burlington, and the girl are linked to breaking and entering vehicles in Apex, Cary, Chapel Hill and Mebane, police said, and to the use of stolen credit cards, some of them lifted from the vehicles. The crimes took place throughout March and April, police said.

In announcing the arrests, Apex police issued a reminder of the importance of locking doors.

"Locked doors often deter many criminals from making entry into vehicles, residences and businesses," police said, noting that stolen items like credit cards can allow criminals to also commit identity theft.
