Boys, girls and even twins! Meet the first babies of 2019

Triangle hospitals and excited parents welcomed some of the first babies of 2019 overnight.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Triangle hospitals and excited parents welcomed some of the first babies of 2019 overnight.

A baby was born at Chapel Hill's UNC Medical Center at 12:05 a.m., just missing the midnight mark. Photos were not provided.

WakeMed's North campus helped bring baby Evan Gary Bigler into the world at 12:19 a.m. Evan weighs 7 pounds 10 ounces, parents Katie and Shane say.

Just 10 minutes later, officials at WakeMed Raleigh said Dawson was born around 12:30 a.m. Parents Emile and Chad Carraway said he weighs 7 pounds.

At 1:11 a.m. at WakeMed Cary, little Ronan was born to parents Kristi and Siim Eiland, weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces.

Several hours later, UNC REX Healthcare welcomed the area's first baby girl of 2019 at 4:04 a.m. Her parents, Rachel and Matthew Nolting, were still deciding on a name.

Not far from the Triangle in Greenville, North Carolina, Kalvin Reddick was born at 6:33 a.m. Kalvin is the third child and first son for mother Shakeema Reddick. Both the baby and his mother are doing well.

Even later in the day, around 11 a.m., April Batten and Jimmy Flores of Middlesex welcomed twins into the world. Thomas Flores (4 pounds, 12 ounces) was born at 11:05 and Adam Flores (5 pounds, 12 ounces) was born at 11:06. Both are 19 inches. The boys have a four-year-old sister at home, Chloe.
