RALEIGH, N.C. — Storms that rolled through North Carolina Wednesday didn't impact us as much as it did other parts of the state.
We were under a Level 1, or marginal risk, for severe weather Wednesday because of instability in the atmosphere that could bring heavy downpours and gusty winds to the region. Weather warnings were issued for several parts of the state. A flood advisory was issued for Wake, Durham and Granville counties in the Triangle until 7 p.m. Wednesday but that was canceled just before 6 p.m.
As this rain moves away, expect more the next few days
In Greensboro, it was a different story. Several inches fell in the area with flash flooding hitting certain parts of Greensboro, according to NBC affiliate WXII.

WRAL News meteorologist Mike Maze said Wednesday night we are likely to be in store for more storms in the Triangle and other parts of the state for Thursday. In fact, there's a 40 percent chance of rain every day through at least Sunday. However, Maze emphasized it wasn't going to be a total washout for the weekend.

By the end of the weekend, Raleigh could see 1.25 inches of rain.

The rain will bring cooler temperatures. While Wednesday’s high will be 93 degrees, Thursday’s high will be 89 degrees, and Friday’s will be 86 degrees.
