RALEIGH, N.C. — Graduates around our area are getting their start in uncertain times.

Graduates at NC State were surrounded by family and the people they met along the way in college.

After getting their diplomas – they head in different directions.

But they enter the real world, at a really intense time.

There are concerns about inflation and recession and war.

“It is a hectic time and this is a big transition in everyone’s lives, graduating from college,” said NC State graduate Jessup Hobbs

But these graduates have already proven they can handle it.

They earned their degrees in a global pandemic. It has helped prepare them for whatever comes next.

“It was a good bonding experience really," said Pooja Kansagra, an NC State graduate. "I learned a lot.”

In this economy, many of these graduates are in demand.

Kansagra already has a job lined up with a bank in Texas.

“I am glad I have that solid ground already there to start forward from,” said Kansagra.

These graduates told WRAL News many of their classmates have jobs lined up. Others are going to get their Masters.

A few are still undecided.
