Monday
KwanzaaFest - This Durham festival, open to everyone, starts at 10:30 a.m. and includes arts and crafts, a drum class, games and face painting. Performances will begin at 2, and a marketplace full of vendors will be open throughout the event.
The Greatest Showman - Check the link for showtimes at area theaters.
Tuesday
On Your Feet - Shows start at DPAC tonight telling the story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan through an energetic performance.
Faithful Friends Holiday Tea - Enjoy a wide selection of teas from The Republic of Tea alongside a variety of finger sandwiches, homemade scones and handcrafted sweets at the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club through Jan. 6.
Horny Trilogy Release - Join the annual Horny Party at Bull City Burger and Brewery! Bull City will release the 2017 Youngen Horny Barley Wine, the 2016 Olden Horny Barley Wine and an extra special BCBB Burger. At 5 p.m., meet the brewers and enjoy delicious snacks.
Wednesday
A Place at the Table Documentary Screening - The Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties is opening their monthly general membership meeting to the public for a screening of 'A Place at the Table' documentary at FullSteam Brewery.
Northgate Jams! - The Durham mall hosts bluegrass jam sessions each week from 6 to 9 p.m. Park in the parking deck closest to the movie theater or in the spaces between the parking deck and the mall building at entrance 3 or 4.
Brett's Open Mic - Beyu Cafe hosts this open mic night weekly from 5 to 7 p.m.
Thursday
Nash Street Ramblers - The band will play a free show at the Blue Note Grill in Durham.
Larger Than Life Science - Come for the people and programs, stay for a beer and leave with your next big breakthrough. Larger Than Life Science is a monthly event series open to everyone interested in building a strong support network for North Carolina’s life science and healthcare innovators. The event is held in the newly renovated Chesterfield Building in downtown Durham from 4 to 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month.
Friday
First Fridays at the Museum: Funny Face - Join the N.C. Museum of History for a lobby exhibit, The Shape of Fashion, then stay for a screening of the film "Funny Face" starting at 6:30 p.m. Before the film begins, enjoy free samples of local microbrews while they last.
Bette Smith - The soul music sensation from Brooklyn will play a free show at The Bullpen.
Songs From the Road Band - The Chapel Hill-based band will play the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.
