CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Strong winds caused a tree to fall on an Orange County home late Sunday night, leaving one man without a roof.

Tim Fenwick, who owns the home, says the storms started just after 11:30 p.m. According to Fenwick, he was inside watching television when he heard a loud noise and narrowly missed getting hurt from a branch that came flying from his ceiling.

Fenwick said he has lived there for 11 years and has never experienced something like it. About six years ago, he removed several trees surrounding his home.

Fenwick is spending Monday at home cleaning up the debris and working the phones to get his roof replaced.
