Training accident leaves Fort Bragg service member hurt

Authorities are investigating after a soldier was hurt during a training accident Monday morning at Fort Bragg, officials said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities are investigating after a soldier was hurt during a training accident Monday morning at Fort Bragg, officials said.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on the training range and involved a pistol, authorities said. Only one person was hurt during the pistol training incident, authorities said.

The victim received medical treatment at the scene before being rushed for medical care to Womack Army Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

According to a written statement issued by Fort Bragg, the service member was assigned to the Joint Special Operations Command, or JSOC, which is part of the 18th Airborne Corps.
