Pedestrian struck by train, leading to blocked roads

A man was struck by a train near the State Fairgrounds early Thursday, Raleigh police said. The train then stalled on the tracks, blocking traffic at Hillsborough Street and Blue Ridge Road from about 5:30 to 8:15 a.m.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man was struck by a train near the State Fairgrounds early Thursday, Raleigh police said.

The pedestrian was taken to WakeMed.

The train then stalled on the tracks, blocking traffic at Hillsborough Street and Blue Ridge Road from about 5:30 to 8:15 a.m.

WRAL News saw a person being loaded into an ambulance.

The extent of the man's injuries were not known.
