Stroller Strides of Raleigh is launching its fall Raleigh Running Mamas program starting Aug. 26.

The two-month program is designed for moms. It will get participants ready for the Monster Dash 5K on Oct. 30 at Cameron Village in Raleigh. No experience is required.

The program includes weekend or weekday training sessions in Cary, Raleigh and Apex. Participants get a detailed weekly training plan to complete several additional runs on their own each week, along with guidance on nutrition, proper running shoes, running form, stretching and more. Moms who have participated have called the experience "empowering."

Stroller Strides is a fitness program for moms and their stroller riding kids with locations across Wake and Orange counties. You can bring along your kids in a stroller for the running program, though it's not required. Fathers also are welcome to participate in the running program.
