A Norfolk Southern train collided with an unoccupied vehicle Friday night in Durham, according to authorities.

DURHAM, N.C. — A Norfolk Southern train collided with an unoccupied vehicle Friday night in Durham, according to police.

According to investigators, the crash happened at 9:15 at the railroad crossing near Grant and Pettigrew streets.

The vehicle was stopped on the crossing after it got stuck on the tracks, authorities said, and it became wedged underneath the eastbound train.

No one was injured, and the intersection reopened early Saturday.
