I-40 Overnight Snag Coming in Orange County

Replacing pavement reflectors will take one westbound lane out of commission from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily for a week, beginning March 24.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — An overnight project to replace reflective markers in the westbound pavement of Interstate 40 will close one of the road's two lanes between the Orange County-Durham County line and the merger of I-40 and Interstate 85 in western Orange County, the state Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.

The work will begin next Monday night at 8 and go through 6 a.m. each day  through March 28, DOT said.

The left lane will be the one closed.
