Part of I-95 Near Smithfield To Temporarily Close Tuesday

JOHNSTON COUNTY — Both northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Johnston County near Smithfield will be closed Tuesday, reports the N.C. Department of Transportation.

The U.S. 70 Business bridge that spans I-95 will also be closed.

Crews will be repairing damage to the bridge near mile marker 95 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Motorists traveling north on I-95 will take Exit 95, cross U.S. 70 Business and travel back onto I-95 North.

Motorists traveling west on U.S. 70 Business will take I-95 North to U.S. 70 Bypass to I-95 South back to U.S. 70 Business.

Motorists traveling east on U.S. 70 Business will take I-95 South to Brogden Road to I-95 North back to U.S. 70 Business.

Motorists should expect heavy delays and proceed with caution through this area.
