Transportation Board Approves Message Signs, Traffic Cameras For Durham Freeway

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Board Of Transportation put millions of dollars in highway contracts on the fast track Thursday.

One of the contracts directly impacts the Triangle.

Under the approved plan, the Department of Transportation will install traffic cameras and message signs on the Durham Freeway from Interstate 40 to the Highway 15-501 bypass west of Durham.

Road crews hope the measures will alert drivers to accidents and construction zones.
