Good morning. I'm meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner. Overnight. Last night, in our southeastern counties, we had a few isolated showers and thunderstorms in that same area will likely have a repeat of that starting right after lunch time. Let's take a look at satellite and radar and you can see a boundary that is hanging out right through central North Carolina. Really along in east of I 95 is where we'll have a better chance of some showers and storms later today, high pressure builds in for the next two days. Thursday and Friday look dry and hot and then the cold front that's to our north and west moving through parts of the Midwest. That one comes in this weekend. It's also going to be a very slow mover. Bringing us a chance of rain. Saturday and Sunday. Here's a look at future cast and you can see things pretty quiet out there as we get close to lunchtime. That boundary just kind of sitting there. And then during the afternoon, starting around two or three o'clock, a few isolated showers or thunderstorms start to pop up. Those will be with us through the evening commute into dinner time. And then that fizzles out and then high pressure builds in and we're looking at dry conditions for a few days around the viewing area. Our temperatures heading out the door this morning are a little warmer than yesterday. Expect mainly mid sixties and we will climb to around 80 by lunchtime. A little breezy again today too. Like it's been the last several days right now, winds are steady out of the west southwest at around 5 to 10 and we'll see some gusts 10 to 15 this afternoon to 84 in Raleigh, 85 in Durham and Fayetteville for our highest this afternoon. Again, the farther south and east you are the better chance that you'll see an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. We're starting to see that muggy meter creep up the last few days. It's been in the comfy zone. We've crept into the tolerable zone. What that means is, it's not steamy or tropical, but you'll notice that you'll notice that the humidity is starting to creep up. Now, tomorrow it's dry but hot and then Saturday and Sunday, some showers and thunderstorms. So certainly we're seeing that dew point really climb with that additional moisture in the atmosphere, definitely much warmer than normal all the way through the weekend. And for much of next week as well, our normal high is 77 and we got a long string of eight Thursday and Friday with that sunshine again. We will also be on the hot side, almost 90 we have yet to hit 90 officially at RDU. We could see that at least in some places on Friday.
