A tractor-trailer fire caused traffic delays for three hours Saturday evening on Interstate 40 East, near the Harrison Avenue exit in Cary.

CARY, N.C. — A tractor-trailer fire caused traffic delays for three hours Saturday evening on Interstate 40 East, near the Harrison Avenue exit in Cary.

The tractor-trailer jackknifed and caught fire near exit 287 shortly before 7 p.m., state troopers said.

All lanes of traffic between mile marker 287 and 288 had been reopened by 10 p.m.

Witnesses said at least one person was transported to the hospital. Authorities confirmed that a person was injured but didn't release a name or condition.
