RALEIGH, N.C. — A tractor-trailer crash shut down part of Interstate 40 west on Tuesday morning.

At one point, the tractor-trailer was sideways across the road, causing big delays for drivers headed into Raleigh from Garner. The crash happened west of the Jones Sausage Road exit near the I-440 interchange.

The road was closed for some time, but has since reopened.

Authorities said the wreck occurred when the tractor-trailer collided with the median barrier along a construction zone. The driver was not hurt.
