Monday morning commuters had a tough day in Durham, along with emergency officials who had to deal with at least three accidents on the Durham Freeway, N.C. Highway 147.

One of the accidents, between Ellis Road and Alexander Drive, closed travel lanes on the southbound side, and traffic had to get by on the shoulder, the state Department of Transportation said.
Durham officials reported two accidents between South Alston and South Briggs avenues.
There were no immediate reports of injuries in the crashes.
