Here's what's happening in the General Assembly on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — Here's what's happening in the General Assembly on Wednesday, Feb. 13:
- The Senate Appropriations Committee meets at 9 a.m. and will consider a proposal to tap an existing state fund for school construction money.
- The House State and Local Government Committee meets at 10 a.m. and will consider naming ice cream as the state's "official frozen treat."
- Rep. Chuck McGrady, R-Henderson, holds a 10 a.m. news conference to roll out his latest proposal to put an independent commission in charge of redrawing congressional and legislative voting districts.
- The Senate Judiciary Committee meets at 2 p.m. and will take up several Alcoholic Beverage Control changes.
- The Senate has no votes scheduled for its 10 a.m. session, while the House is expected to approve a resolution setting the date for Gov. Roy Cooper's State of the State address.
