RALEIGH, N.C. — Here's what's happening in the General Assembly on Thursday, March 20:
- House and Senate budget committees continue their early morning joint meetings at 8:30 and 9 a.m.
- The House has nothing on its calendar for its 11 a.m. session.
- The Senate also convenes at 11 a.m. and will vote on banning female genital mutilation, or FGM, and is expected to elect six members to the UNC Board of Governors.
- At 2 p.m., a new report on lead in drinking water at North Carolina schools is expected to be released.
