RALEIGH, N.C. — Here's what's going on at the General Assembly on Wednesday, June 5:
  • House Finance considers changes to Alcoholic Beverage Control regulations. (8:30 a.m., 544 LOB)
  • House K-12 Education takes up a measure that would give teachers more time to pass their licensing exam requirements. (9 a.m., 643 LOB)
  • Senate Health debates eliminating the state's Certificate of Need regulations for new health care facilities. (10 a.m., 421 LOB)
  • House Judiciary considers legalizing fantasy sports betting and creating a state gaming commission to regulate it. (10 a.m., 544 LOB)
  • Senate Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources debates the annual Farm Act, including expanding hemp production in the state. (10 a.m., 643 LOB)
  • Senate Higher Education considers allowing alcohol sales at college sporting events. (11 a.m., 1027/1128 LB)
  • Senate Transportation takes up a repeal of the Map Act, which limited development in future highway corridors. (12 p.m., 1124/1224 LB)
  • House Elections and Ethics Law hears from new state elections director Karen Brinson Bell. (1 p.m., 1228/1327 LB)
