Today @NCCapitol (Feb. 12): A less than sunny revenue forecast
Lawmakers will hear Thursday about tax revenues that are lagging slightly behind forecast.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Good morning and welcome to Today @NCCapitol. Here's what's going on around the legislature and elsewhere in state government:
The forecast: House and Senate lawmakers are scheduled to meet for a joint Appropriations Committee hearing Thursday at 8:30 a.m. Among the data they will review is a projection that tax collections this year will lag $271 million below expectations.
The Senate: Senators are scheduled to finish work on a bill making changes to the state's gas tax. Session is scheduled for 11 a.m.
The House: The House meets at 10:30 a.m. but has no bills on its calendar.
The governor: Gov. Pat McCrory will continue his push for renewal of the state's historic preservation tax credit by touring historic Rocky Mount Mills in Rocky Mount on Thursday afternoon.
Noted: A group of Democratic House lawmakers filed a bill to legalize medical marijuana Wednesday.
