Tips to independence: Tweens, Teens

Cynthia Edwards, a mom, professor of psychology and administrator at Meredith College, has been with us for the last few weeks with tips on how to encourage independence in our kids.

We've covered toddlers and preschoolers. Last week, it was grade schoolers. Now it's tweens and teens.

Some key tips from Edwards: Listen without judgment and be willing to let them fail. Edwards tells me both are very important to helping your child become an independent adult.
