While Moore County has been the scene of two high-profile attacks this month, the sheriff's office on Wednesday said that there was no evidence of a connection.

On Dec. 3, someone shot up two electrical substations in the county, leaving 40,000 homes and businesses in the dark for days.

Since that time, local, state and federal investigators have been following up on tips, considering various motives and reviewing location data for cellphones at the time and place of the attacks.

Sheriff Ronnie Fields reminded the public that a $75,000 reward awaits anyone who can provide leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with the power grid attack.

More recently, authorities pulled down banners with white power messages hanging over bridges along U.S. Highway 1. Fields said there is no evidence the two attacks are connected, but both investigations are continuing.

Anyone with information about either is asked to call 910-947-4444.
