Timber Drive shut down after hit-and-run crash leaves one person seriously injured

Reports say the driver hit a tree in the median after losing control.

GARNER, N.C. — According to officials, a suspect in a hit-and-run in Garner Wednesday evening has been apprehended.

The single-vehicle crash occurred around 7:39 pm at Timber Drive/Vandora Springs Road.

Reports say the driver hit a tree in the median after losing control.

The driver then fled on foot and was caught hiding in the woods a short time after.

The car passenger was seriously injured, and both were transported to the hospital.

The incident is still under investigation.

Authorities say Timber Drive is closed from Brompton Lane to Vandora Springs will remain closed for at least a few hours.
