Raleigh, N.C. — Parts of North Carolina woke up to some unusual spring snow Sunday morning, but WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth said spring weather is just around the corner.
Winter Weather Advisories were canceled early Sunday for Wake, Durham, Orange, Person, Granville and other counties as a light wintry mix started moving away from the viewing area.
Temperatures on Sunday night will remain cold, with lows in the 30s, and Monday will stay chilly with high temperatures only reaching the mid-50s.
Tuesday's weather will be similar, but by Wednesday, temperatures could brush 70 degrees. Thursday will be the warmest day of the week, with highs in the upper 70s.
"It's been a while since we've had some nice, warm temperatures, but they're coming later this week," Wilmoth said.
Temperatures will dip back into the 60s next weekend, with a chance for rain on Friday and Saturday, but Easter Sunday should be dry, Wilmoth said.
