MIDDLESEX, N.C. — A driver faces charges and three others are dead after a high-speed crash in Nash County Friday night.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Joseph Hunter Lewis, 20, was driving a Mustang "at a high rate of speed" northbound on Nash Street (N.C. Highway 231) at about 10:30 p.m. when another vehicle turned left in front of him.

Lewis hit the other car near the driver's side door.

Lewis was taken to Nash UNC Hospital for treatment of his injuries, although troopers did not say how seriously he was hurt.

He will face charges of speeding and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

A passenger in his car, Aaron Scott Keen, 25, of Elm City, and the driver and passenger in the other one – Jasmine Dominique Hudson, 22, and Tremeles Vidall Stancil, 23, – were all killed in the crash.

Trooper said they did not suspect alcohol played a role in the crash.
