Three dead, one seriously injured in Fayetteville crash on Murchison Road

The Fayetteville Police Department confirmed that three people died in a crash Saturday on Murchison Road, and another person is in critical condition.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Fayetteville Police Department confirmed that three people died in a crash Saturday on Murchison Road, and another person is in critical condition.

Around 5:13 p.m., officers responded to an emergency call in the area of Murchison Road.

According to reports, the Nissan Frontier pick-up truck was traveling westbound on Murchison Road when it crossed the path of the Mercedes Benz, which was traveling eastbound.

The driver of the Nissan, Stephen May, 38 and passengers of the Mercedes Benz, Martell Jones, 52, Timothy Bradshaw, 64, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes Benz was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital with serious injuries and is in critical condition.

Donald Jones heard the crash in front of his business, the Vinyl Signage shop, and said it sounded like an explosion.

Jones said he ran outside and tried talking to the man in the truck but was dead; then, he assisted the other vehicle.

He also said that others who witnessed the crash stopped to help out as well.

According to officials, Murchison Road from Country Club Road to Shaw Mill Road is re-opened and an investigation is underway.
