NASHVILLE, N.C. — Three children were ejected from a car following a crash Wednesday night in Nash County.

Highway Patrol troopers said a Chrysler Pacifica driven north by a mother with her five children inside drove through a stop sign and collided with a car traveling west on West Castalia Road near Red Road.

The Pacifica rolled over from the impact. Both vehicles were driving about 50 mph.

Troopers said an 11-year-old, 13-year-old and 14-year-old were ejected from the Chrysler. The children were flown to Vidant Health in Greenville with serious injuries.

The mother, along with a 2-year-old and 16-year-old in the Chrysler, were taken to Nash Health Care for treatment. Their conditions were unknown, authorities said.

Troopers said the driver of the other vehicle was also taken to Nash Health Care with minor injuries.

Authorities said charges are possible in connection with the crash.
