RALEIGH, N.C. — Two Raleigh men and a teen have been charged with assaulting and kidnapping a teen, according to arrest warrants.

Damien Terrell Daniel, 31, of 5412 Talserwood Drive, Rodney Harris, 43, of 2550 Corley Wood Drive, and Preniss Isael Ratliff-Hinton, 17, of 718 Atwater St., were each charged with first-degree kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury. Daniel and Harris also were charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, while Ratliff-Hinton also faces a charge of possession of a handgun by a minor.

Police said officers handling a call in the 4100 block of Western Boulevard were approached by someone about a kidnapping and aggravated assault. The victim said he was going to meet an acquaintance in the 1100 block of Clanton Street at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Although warrants state the victim was under age 16, a Raleigh Police Department spokeswoman said he was 20.

When he arrived, the acquaintance and two men got into his vehicle, and one pulled out a 9mm semiautomatic hangun and forced him to drive, police said. He told officers he was assaulted several times at various locations and finally driven back to Clanton Street, where he was again assaulted.

He was taken to UNC Rex Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening wounds, police said.

Daniel was being held without bond in the Wake County jail, while Harris was held under $325,000 bond and Ratliff-Hinton was held under $250,000 bond.
