Johnston County deputies on Sunday broke up a suspected cockfighting ring at a Willow Spring home and arrested three men, authorities said Tuesday.

<b>WILLOW SPRINGS, N.C.</b> — Johnston County deputies on Sunday broke up a suspected cockfighting ring at a Willow Spring home and arrested three men, authorities said Tuesday.

An anonymous tip led to the raid at a home on Jackson-King Road, authorities said. When deputies arrived, about 30 people ran into some nearby woods.

Robert Cottle, 45, of Raleigh, Arnulfo Garcia, 31, of Wendell, and Hugo Zuniga, 25, of Willow Spring, were each charged with cockfighting and criminal conspiracy.

Deputies seized 138 chickens, 13 dead chickens, cockfighting paraphernalia and 14 cars parked at the home, authorities said.
