Three arrested in shooting of Eagle Springs man

Moore County sheriff's deputies arrested three men Thursday in connection with a shooting that took place in February.

EAGLE SPRINGS, N.C. — Moore County sheriff's deputies arrested three men Thursday in connection with a shooting that took place in February.

Sheriff Lane Carter said Claudius Antonio Barrett, 29, was found shot outside a home at 2753 N.C. Highway 211 in Eagle Springs on Feb. 4. Moore County EMS took Barrett to First Health-Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, where he was pronounced dead.

Three men are charged with murder and felony robbery with a dangerous weapon. They are Phillip Brian Chisholm, 31, of 199 Dan Road in Robbins, Robert Anthony Boone, 28, of 730 S. Presnell Ave. in Asheboro, and Bruce O’Neal Jarrell, 19, of 354 Brookside Drive in Asheboro.

Chisholm is also charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

All three were in the Moore County Detention Center without bond Friday.
