Three arrested after Lumberton woman dies in house fire

Lumberton, N.C. — Police have arrested three individuals after a Lumberton woman died in a Jan. 21 fire.
Around 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, the Lumberton Fire Department responded to a fire at a home on 1201 Godwin Avenue.
When crews arrived, they found a small fire. A 76-year-old woman, identified as Annette Hendren Ivey, was dead inside the home. Investigators said Wednesday that Ivey's death was being investigated as a homicide.
On Friday, the Lumberton Police Department arrested three individuals in connection with Ivey's death.
Kevin Hammonds, 25, and Maribel Christina Cain, 24, were each charged with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, felony conspiracy, robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree arson, larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, financial card theft, identity theft and obtaining property by false pretense.
Lorie Lynn Sampson, 38, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, felony conspiracy, robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree arson and larceny of a motor vehicle.
All three were being held in the Robeson County Detention Center without bond. A court date was scheduled for Jan. 27.
