A Clayton couple shared their wedding with the world on Christmas Eve, exchanging vows live on Zoom while wearing holiday-themed pajamas and having Santa officiate.

Bill Kearns and Janet Drake decided to close out 2020 on the happiest note possible: Sharing their love with each other, with family and with anyone else who wanted to watch.

Starting at 8:30 a.m., thousands of people from across North Carolina watched the pair as their wedding live streamed on WRAL's Facebook and website, sharing their own words of encouragement and congratulations in the comments.

"Awww! Thank you for inviting all of us to your wedding. We are watching all the way from Raleigh," said one viewer.

Another said, "Congratulations! A true joy to hear laughter & see happiness. Best wishes."

The faces of smiling family members and loved ones overtook the screen, cheering and applauding for the first 'COVID wedding' they had ever attended.

The moment of love and happiness brought people together and provided a fun, bright and unexpected moment to kick off Christmas Eve 2020.

Congratulations and Merry Christmas to the happy couple!
