RALEIGH, N.C. — Wednesday will be mild and bright, but a cooling, wet trend is headed our way.

According to WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner, the days will get colder, grayer and more rainy as the weekend nears.

Current Temperatures, DMA

Wednesday will be bright and sunny with a high of 61 degrees and drier, cooler air.

Thursday will also be dry but cloudy and much cooler, with the afternoon turning gray and overcast. Highs will be in the upper 50s.

Gardner calls Friday "miserable" as remnants from Tropical Storm Willa bring rain to the state. It will be an unseasonably cold and wet day, with heavy showers likely and a chilly high of 51 degrees.

Some rain is likely Saturday, but the day won't be as wet as Friday. Temperatures will be in the mid 50s before Sunday turns warmer and drier, with highs back in the low 60s.
