FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Vice President Mike Pence spoke to Fort Bragg military personnel and guests before joining President Donald Trump for a campaign rally in Greenville on Wednesday.

Pence greeted about 650 paratroopers and soldiers from all over Fort Bragg. He thanked them for their continued service and for the job they are doing to defend the country.

Pence vowed to make sure all of the United States' service members have the equipment and training they need to keep themselves and the country safe.

"When emergency deployment phone rings, it is picked up right here at Fort Bragg...This is an incredible place," he said.

Earlier in the day, Pence was the headliner at a private fundraiser for Republican 9th Congressional District candidate Dan Bishop in Fayetteville. Pence will join Trump for a campaign rally Wednesday night at the Smith-Williams Arena at East Carolina University.
