LILLINGTON, N.C. — Sanford police on Thursday arrested a man in connection with a recent home invasion in Lillington.

Jeremiah Devon McDougald was arrested at his home, 1605 Tramway Road, and was charged with first-degree burglary, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He was being held Friday at the Harnett County Detention Center under a $200,000 bond.

McDougald is the third person charged in a Dec. 17 home invasion at 232 Tacia Drive while Derrick Womack and his family were home. Womack was shot in the hand, and he said he shot two robbers before they and two accomplices fled.
