RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police have arrested a third man in connection with the fatal shooting last weekend of a man inside a vehicle traveling on Interstate 440, authorities said Saturday.

Demonte Tyquan Duncan, 25, has been charged with murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle, police said in a written statement.

He was being held Saturday at the Wake County Jail.

Duncan is the third suspect to be charged and arrested in the fatal shooting of Arlo Dontel Ramsey, 44, who was wounded while his vehicle was traveling in the westbound lanes of I-440 between New Bern Avenue and Brentwood Road shortly before 4 a.m. on Aug. 17.

Ramsey was found on Hillsborough Street at Glenwood Avenue after someone called police to report a shooting.

He was rushed for medical treatment to WakeMed, where he died, police said.

Police arrested Xavier Cortez Alston, 23, on Friday and charged him with murder in Ramsey's death. Raekwon Quazai Williams, 23, was charged with accessory after the fact to murder, police said.

Williams was released on bond shortly after his arrest, but Alston remained in custody as of Friday, according to jail workers.
