ABERDEEN, N.C. — Hoke County authorities said Friday that they have arrested a third person in the attempted robbery at an Aberdeen furniture store last week in which one of the suspected robbers was killed.

Ronald Ross Jr., 24, of 128 Park Place, Lot 7 in Raeford, was charged with felony breaking and entering, robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and aid and abet an armed robbery. He was being held in the Hoke County jail under a $1 million bond.

Several people wearing masks entered All American Mattress and Furniture, at 9734 Aberdeen Road, on Feb. 8, authorities said. The business owner was closing the store when the robbers entered, and one pointed a rifle at him and demanded money, while someone else beat the owner with brass knuckles.

The owner was able to disarm the robber with the rifle, identified as David Ryan Frame, 16, and shot and killed him in the struggle for the weapon, authorities said. Three other robbers fled the business and left in a waiting vehicle.

Ross' sister, Amie Lynette Ross, 27, of the same address, and another man, Lewis Vega, 21, of 308 Providence Way in Aberdeen, were arrested Monday in the case.
