The person or persons responsible for taking Eve Carson's life have got to be thinking about just how badly they screwed up. In short, they messed with the wrong girl.
Let me start by saying that every life is valuable. No one person's life has any more worth than another person's in the eyes of those who love them. That being said, few people had as many personal connections with others as Eve Carson did. Any death of a student would have sent the UNC campus into a tailspin and created a public outcry. But this girl – a school leader with an infectious personality, a strong work ethic, a heart the size of Texas and a brain to match – taking this girl's life has touched off a firestorm of unprecedented proportions at UNC. Killing this girl guarantees that every cop and every citizen will be looking for the perpetrator under every rock.
Police have distributed several very clear surveillance pictures of a person using Carson's ATM card. The pictures have been distributed throughout the country to every law enforcement agency and every media outlet. It is only a matter of time before they make an arrest. Make no mistake, this case will not go away.
