RALEIGH, N.C. — It is Thanksgiving week, which means you probably need a few events to help you into the spirit - or chill you out!
Monday
The Time Jumpers will play Carolina Theatre of Durham at 8 p.m. If you aren't familiar with the group, the members are all musicians who have made major contributions to the richness and vigor of country music. A great collection of artists! Tickets start at $32.
Tuesday
Chill out before the holiday rush by heading to Raleigh Brewing for Small Batch Tuesday. Each week, the brewery releases a small 10 gallon batch of either a employee's home-brew or something that the brewers are working on.
Wednesday
The North Carolina Symphony will present "The Snowman" at 3 p.m. at Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh. This heartwarming tale of this snowman coming to life will appear on the big screen with the orchestra performing Howard Blake's soundtrack live! Our very own WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner will narrate the performance. Advance tickets are $23.
Thursday
The Ipreo Winterfest ice skating rink will be open from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. So, go burn off those holiday calories on the ice!
The 9th annual Gobbler Run 5K starts at 8 a.m. at the Wake Forest Boys and Girls Club. This family-friendly event will benefit the Boys and Girls Club. Strollers and pets are welcome to participate and children ages 5 years and younger are able to race for free.
Friday
Avoid the malls and head to Triangle Brewing Company for the 8th annual Black Friday Cask Festival. There will be more than 25 casks from 15 different North Carolina breweries, in addition to food vendors and live music. Everything is indoors. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door.
