Compared to pre-pandemic prices, ground beef is up 35%, chips are up 45%, bread is up 57% and a 12-ounce can of soda is up 66%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which tracks trends on common grocery store items.

The Fresh Market will be offering a 10% discount for veterans in honor of Memorial Day. 

The three-day discount is being offered at all 159 stores and will begin on Saturday, May 23 and run through Monday, May 25. The discount also applies to spouses of veterans when they show a military I.D.

This discount not valid on alcohol or gift card purchases.
