NEW YORK — The story of Fishs Eddy — the New York shop that specializes in vintage tableware — is the subject of a revealing graphic memoir by Julie Gaines, who founded the store and runs it with her husband, Dave Lenovitz. Their son, Ben, drew the illustrations.

Named for an upstate New York town the owners happened through, Fishs Eddy evolved through the highs and lows of the business and their lives. It’s compelling in its very personal details.

“Minding the Store: A Big Story About a Small Business” by Julie Gaines, illustrated by Ben Lenovitz (Algonquin Books, $21.95).
