The Cardinal Bar to open second location
The Cardinal opened its first location at 713 N. West St. in 2016.

CLAYTON, N.C. — The Cardinal Bar will be opening a second location in downtown Clayton.
The bar and grill isn't the only venture expanding. The restaurant shared on Instagram that its sister bar, The Atlantic Lounge, is also opening a second location in Clayton. The lounge will be opening along with a new smoked taco restaurant, Lil Hombre.
The two businesses will be moving into 408 E. Second St. and 105 S. Lombard by the end of the year, according to the Clayton Downtown Development Association.
The Cardinal Bar opened its first location at 713 N. West St. in 2016. It is known for its hot dogs and was a finalist for best hot dog in the 2019 WRAL Voters' Choice Awards.
The Atlantic Lounge opened in January 2019 at 620 N. Person St. in downtown Raleigh. The 44-seat venue has bar and banquette seating. The small space is accessible through a foyer between Pelagic Beer and Wine and Crawford and Son.
