Days after UNC officials told pro-Palestinian protesters to take down a tent encampment at Polk Place, protesters have formed a tent encampment after calling for the school's divestment from Israel on Sunday. Student Justice for Palestine, the group organizing the encampment, told WRAL News school officials said they would conduct a sweep of the encampment but did not specify when the sweep would happen or by whom.

Just in case you have to make a last minute trip to the grocery or drug store on Thanksgiving Day, here are the hours for our local stores.  Many grocery stores will be open in the morning, but some are closed all day. 

Aldi will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Carlie C's is open until 2:00 pm on Thanksgiving Day.

CVS: Most stores are open 7 am - 10 pm on Thanksgiving Day. The pharmacy at my local CVS is open from 10 am - 2 pm. See your store for details.

Dollar General will be open Thanksgiving Day from 7:00 am - 7 pm according to the ad but I received an e-mail from corporate Dollar General on Wednesday indicating that the stores will be open until 8 pm on Thursday.

Food Lion will be open on Thanksgiving Day until 3:00 pm.

Harris Teeter will be open on Thanksgiving Day until 2 pm. They will re-open on Friday, 11/28 at 8 am.

Kroger will be open until 5:00 pm on Thanksgiving Day.  They will re-open on Friday, 11/28 at 7:00 am. The pharmacy will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and open for regular hours on 11/28.

Lowes Foods will be open until 4:00 pm on Thanksgiving Day.

Publix will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Rite Aid: Most stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 8 am - 5 pm. Most pharmacies will be open from 9 am - 3 pm according to the ad. See your store for details.

Target: Most Target stores will be open from 6:00 pm on Thurs 11/27 until 11:00 pm on Fri 11/28.

Walgreens: Most stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 8 am - 10 pm. The pharmacy at my local Walgreens is not open on Thanksgiving Day. See your store for details.

Walmart: Most Walmart stores will be open regular hours on Thursday.  My local 24-hour store will stay open as usual. The pharmacy in my local Walmart is closed on Thanksgiving Day. See your store for details.
