The sunshine is sticking around, and it only gets warmer as the week goes on!

The normal high for this time of year is 61, but "we are well above normal week this," according to WRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell.

Beginning Tuesday, highs will be in the upper 60s and 70s across the area.

By Thursday, the high could be 74 degrees in Raleigh, and Friday will be at least 76 degrees.

"If you like spring weather, if you like sunshine -- you are going to love this seven day forecast," said Campbell.

Lows will be in the 40s throughout the week, so expect some cooler mornings.

On top of the springlike weather, rain is not expected.

"Football Friday is in great shape," said Campbell.

7-Day Forecast

The first cooler day of the week will be Sunday, when highs could fall into the low 60s. There is also a small chance for rain on Sunday -- the first rain in the area for more than 10 days.

While meteorological spring (used to monitor weather trends and record-keeping) has already arrived, the first official day of spring is March 20. The clocks go forward for daylight saving time the morning of March 14.
