RALEIGH, N.C. — The Wake County Sheriff's Office reports a missing 14-year-old who is on the autism spectrum was found and is safe.

"After an valiant search by members of the Wake County Sheriff’s Office’s patrol deputies, the WCSO Drone Team, Tactical Response Team, Special Operations and K-9 teams, the missing juvenile, identified as 14-year-old Deangelo Stone, was located shortly before 5 p.m. today," Wake County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Eric Curry said in a press release.

Deputies said Stone was found unharmed near the Walmart on New Bern Ave and New Hope Road. Wake EMS responded to check him out, but it appears that except for being hungry and thirsty, the teen was in good health.

According to his foster parents, the teen was last seen around 11:30 p.m. Friday at his home in the 1500 block of Silver Star Drive, in Raleigh. When they went to check on him Saturday morning, they found the window open, and he was not in the room.

A Silver Alert has been requested by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
