Teen tied up in northeast Raleigh home invasion
RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are investigating after a teenager was found tied up following a home invasion at her northeast Raleigh home.

Authorities said that police responded to a home on Glade Aster Court just before 3:30 p.m., after a mother came home to find her 17-year-old daughter bound with duct tape.

The mother, who did not want to be identified, said she received a text from her daughter Sunday afternoon that read “I’m tied up in the closet. Help.” She said her daughter was using the voice to text feature on her phone to send the message and made it clear something was wrong.

“I sent a message back like ‘closet? What do you mean?’ And you could tell she was using the voice [to text]. She said robbers but it came up Robert,” the mother said.

Scared for her daughter’s safety, the mother rushed home, and what she found was shocking.

“It’s horrifying. I mean, they took her clothes and she’s in the closet. Nobody ever wants to walk in on their child like that,” she said. “I took the tape off. The tape was everywhere so I took the tape off and got her off the floor.”

Police said that two white men in their early to mid-20s forced their way into the home through a back door.

Police said one man was tall with long, curly hair and was wearing a gray shirt with a Dr. Pepper logo on it. The other suspect was described as being short.

It was not clear if anything was taken from the house, police said.

The incident was still under investigation Sunday night.
