RALEIGH, N.C. — A 17-year-old was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night at a Subway, Raleigh police said.

Around 8:30 p.m., Raleigh police officers responded to a robbery at Subway at 13200 Falls of Neuse Road.

The teenage employee spoke WRAL News moments after the robbery, describing, "My mind went blank ... I'm too young, I can't die yet."

The teen recalled the terrifying moment, saying that the man ordered food, waited for her to finish making it, and then pulled out a gun and demanded that she empty the register.

"Basically, I was just making the guy his food and out of nowhere, he said he had to tell me something," the victim said. "He told me he had a gun and I need to empty out the [$20 bills]."

The teen reported that the man flashed the gun and demanded that she hand over the money, threatening to shoot her if she did not comply.

"My mind went blank, so I just emptied the registered and gave him all my twenties," the victim said. "And then, he just walked out."

The victim described the man as a bald, white man in his late 40s, wearing a black shirt and brownish/blackish sunglasses. He had wrinkles on his forehead.

The teen was not injured, and the incident is under investigation.

The WRAL Breaking News Tracker was there while the police investigated.

Yellow tape blocked off the front entrance to the restaurant.

No one is in custody as of Thursday afternoon.
